About dairy processing operator
Milk is a biological material on a clock. It arrives, it changes, and every process applied to it has a window: a temperature held for a stated time, a culture added at a stated point, a cooling that has to happen before something else does. The operator monitors the deviations from the milk production rules.
Cleaning is not housekeeping here, it is the main defence of the product. The operator cleans the equipment in place, carries out the cleaning duties and ensures the proper sanitary conditions, in a plant where pipework and vessels that cannot be dismantled have to be cleaned chemically between runs. A residue left in a line reaches every batch that follows.
Testing and team working complete the role. The operator uses the materials for testing dairy products, and works within a food processing team. Healthcare and food regulations govern the work, and the operator has to be able to work in surroundings that carry real hazards: steam, pressure, chemicals and cold.
