About promotion assistant

The promotion assistant starts from data. Business research is carried out and the information that management needs is gathered, so that a decision can be taken on whether a promotion is required in a given place and at a given time: how a product is selling, what competitors are doing, how earlier campaigns turned out. The assistant puts this information together so that management can base a decision on it.

Once the decision is taken, the assistant helps coordinate the promotional activities. Materials and resources are obtained: display units, leaflets, samples, price markings, and the people to staff a stand. The assistant helps develop marketing campaigns, drawing on advertising techniques and communication principles.

The daily side of the job is clerical: orders, accounting for materials, the campaign calendar, correspondence with the outlets and reports once a promotion ends. The assistant also supports managers in preparing and settling promotional activities. How to become a promotion assistant: formal requirements are set by the employer.
