About tissue paper perforating and rewinding operator
The machine runs continuously and the operator keeps the web running true. The conveyor and the paper reels are monitored, the perforator operated, the spacing between perforations — that is, the sheet length — set, along with the number of sheets per roll. The machine's control panel is configured for each type of toilet tissue, for example one-, two- or three-ply.
The operator checks paper quality as the work goes on: grammage, web width, how the roll is wound, and whether the perforation tears where it should rather than across a sheet. Test runs follow every change of settings, and products that are out of specification are set aside.
The operator solves the problems that arise on the machine: breaks, jams, badly glued reel splices, and loads a new reel of tissue when the last one runs out. They work safely around machinery with rotating shafts and blades. Formal requirements are set by the employer.
