About chemical tester
Time matters in this role: the liquid metal is held in the furnace while the analysis is run, and the result has to be ready before the metal is cast, because after that the composition can no longer be corrected. The tester carries out chemical tests on metals, monitors compliance with production quality standards, and reports the figures to the melt crew.
The tester organises chemical reagents and keeps them ready, chemicals are handled safely and properly, and knowledge of chemical processes is what allows a reading to be interpreted rather than merely transcribed.
Scientific reports are prepared from the results, which document the course of each heat. The tester works within metal production teams, on site at the plant, close to production. Formal requirements are set by the employer and by the standards the plant is certified to.
