About amusement and recreation attendant
The attendant operates mechanical rides: admitting guests, checking restraints and the height or age limits where a ride has them, starting a cycle and stopping it if something is not right. Stands are worked as well: skill games, equipment hire, food and drink points.
The attendant supervises safety across their own area, knows the emergency procedures — a ride stopped with guests at the top, evacuation, an accident, a lost child — and can carry them out promptly.
A ride attendant also gives information about the attractions, the hours and the prices, directs people to particular rides and answers questions about the park, such as where attractions are located, and cleans the facilities and the grounds. Recreational facilities are scheduled, and equipment is maintained and issued to participants in sports and recreational activities. Formal requirements are set by the employer, which also provides training on each specific ride.
