About train cleaner
The routine is vacuuming, mopping and deep cleaning, done to the train cleaning procedures that set what is cleaned, in what order and with what. The cleaner works through a carriage in a fixed pattern so that nothing is missed, and matches the cleaning technique to each surface. Deep cleaning covers areas such as the upholstery, luggage racks, window frames, toilets and the floor under the seats.
The cleaner operates floor cleaning equipment and keeps the cleaning equipment in good condition.
The cleaner keeps an inventory of cleaning agents, which is both a stock control and a safety matter: the products are chemicals, they have to be stored and labelled correctly, and some of them must not be mixed. The cleaner follows organisational guidelines for the cleaning services sector and cleans the public spaces of the train. Formal requirements are set by the employer.
