As a sport therapist, you will design and deliver customized exercise and rehabilitation programs for individuals and groups who have chronic health conditions or are at elevated risk of developing health complications. Unlike medical doctors, you do not require medical qualifications but do need comprehensive knowledge of exercise science, human physiology, and health behavior change. Your day-to-day work involves assessing clients' fitness levels and health objectives, prescribing appropriate exercises that they can safely perform, and supervising their workouts to ensure proper form and prevent injury. You will communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals using correct medical terminology while also educating your clients about the lifestyle benefits of regular physical activity and healthy choices.
