About ICT capacity planner
The planner analyses business requirements, forecasts workload levels and converts those into resources: servers, memory, network bandwidth, licences, people. All the resources needed to deliver a given ICT service are taken into account, and short, medium and long term plans are produced to match business requirements.
The planner delivers cost-benefit analysis reports, compares keeping resources in house against buying a service outside, and gives an opinion on outsourcing strategy and on putting work out to a wider pool of suppliers. The aim is capacity that meets the agreed service levels on time and at a justifiable cost.
