Household appliances repair technician

A household appliances repair technician is a person who repairs small and large domestic appliances, electrical and gas alike: vacuum cleaners, washing machines, dishwashers, air conditioners and refrigerators. Each type of appliance has its own functions, properties and legal and regulatory requirements, and the technician works within them.

About household appliances repair technician

Diagnosis is done with instruments. The technician uses electrical devices to measure voltage or resistance and uses diagnostic tools for electronic appliance repair, which is how a failed heating element is distinguished from a failed control board without replacing both. The readings then guide the troubleshooting.

The repair itself is physical work. The technician finds solutions to the problems the diagnosis reveals, repairing or replacing the faulty parts, and checks afterwards that the appliance works correctly and safely. Lifting heavy objects is part of the job, and so is knowledge of domestic electrical goods.

The customer side runs alongside. The technician provides customer follow-up services, maintains equipment to prevent the next failure, keeps a record of the maintenance activities carried out, and follows company policy on what is repaired, what is replaced and what is declared beyond economic repair.
