About baggage flow supervisor
Supervising the flow is the first part. The supervisor oversees the carriage of baggage, monitors the performance of the airline services involved, and liaises with the baggage handling managers to keep the operation compliant and to see that the right solutions are applied. The main aim is that no bag is separated from its passenger at a transfer.
Data is the second part. The supervisor collects, analyses and keeps records of airline data and of passenger and baggage flows, and prepares and circulates the daily reports: staffing needs, security risks, maintenance requirements and incident reports. Those reports allow recurring problems to be addressed systematically.
Security and standards run through everything. The supervisor ensures compliance with airport protection measures, carries out airport security checks, monitors the security measures in place, works to the airport terminal standards, and reports security breaches. Resilience under stress is part of the role, and the supervisor also has to keep the cooperation going and settle the conflicts that arise.
