About aircraft groomer
Aircraft cleaning happens between landing and the next departure, and the work follows a checklist. The groomer vacuums or sweeps the cabin interior, clears seats of left belongings and crumbs, arranges the seat belts, empties the seat pockets and restocks them with in-flight magazines, safety cards and sick bags.
The groomer also cleans worktops, sinks and the floor in the galley under the hygiene rules that apply to food, and disinfects lavatories, basins and handles. Waste from the cabin and the galley is sorted.
Checking the cleanliness of the aircraft is part of the job: at the end the groomer walks the cabin and inspects the rows. Verbal instructions are given as well, when a team works together and sections have to be divided up.
