About navy officer

Command covers duties of several kinds. The officer leads missions in conflict and in peacetime, supervises the activity of their team, and conducts the patrols and voyages whose purpose is keeping the peace in an area of responsibility. Humanitarian relief missions are coordinated and their progress supervised from planning to completion.

The officer also trains naval crews, issues instructions to staff and oversees their training and development. Military drill and crew exercises are conducted as well. The officer works regularly with the human resources department to plan the unit's future staffing needs.

The officer knows how naval operations are run and the military weapons and armament available to the unit. Threats to the security of the ship and crew are detected and assessed, and information is passed to superiors and to the team across different communication channels.
