About motor vehicle assembler
The assembler works within assembly line teams, where each station has a fixed time and a fixed set of operations, and the work is to do them correctly at that pace: engine components are bolted together, parts are fitted and connections are made in the sequence the build requires.
The assembler reads engineering sketches and uses the technical documentation, because the documentation shows which fastener, which harness and which torque belongs to the vehicle in front of them.
The assembler monitors compliance with production quality standards, inspects vehicles for defects and tests assembled equipment, and raises what is found. Knowledge of mechanics helps the assembler notice a part that is seated wrongly. Problems are solved at the station, and the assembler may also supervise the motor vehicle production process. Requirements for the job are set by the employer.
