About industrial machinery assembler
The assembler works from drawings and technical resources, consulting them as the build proceeds. Parts are fitted, aligned and set, and the assembler installs machines on site once they leave the works. Test runs follow: the machine is run empty, then loaded, and the assembler checks that it does what it was built to do before it is handed over.
Inspection and servicing belong to the same job. The assembler carries out inspections of industrial equipment, performs regular maintenance checks on machines and maintains installed equipment, which can mean returning to a customer's plant.
The assembler draws on knowledge of mechanics: how a drive train transmits force, why a bearing runs hot, what a given tolerance is for. Securing the work area is a safety duty, and it matters especially during installation and testing, since a machine being commissioned can move unexpectedly. Formal requirements are set by the employer.
