About event scaffolder

The work is high-risk. It can involve industrial climbing, working at height above colleagues and lifting heavy loads, and a dropped component can fall onto people who are working below. Personal protective equipment is used throughout, machinery is operated safely, and ergonomic working methods matter in a job of repeated lifting.

The scaffolder works from instructions, plans and calculations, uses the technical documentation, and knows the scaffolding components, because a structure that holds an audience is a load-bearing structure whose load is calculated before assembly.

The scaffolder fits roof tarpaulins on outdoor structures, which increases the wind load on the frame. Work is done both inside venues and outside, and the weather has to be taken into account when planning outdoor work. Equipment used during performances is stored between events, and resources for an artistic production are obtained. Training and medical fitness for work at height are set by national rules.
