Electronic equipment assembler
An electronic equipment assembler is a person who answers for assembling electronic devices and systems, fitting the electronic components and the wiring in accordance with the diagrams and the assembly drawings. The assembler may also help with quality control and with maintaining the equipment.

About electronic equipment assembler
Reading the drawing is where the work starts. A circuit is assembled from a document rather than from memory, and a component fitted the wrong way round or into the wrong position looks identical to a correct one until the unit is powered. The assembler applies assembly techniques, works from a knowledge of printed circuit boards, and solders the electronic components, which is a manual skill with a measurable result: a joint is either sound or it is not.
Checking is part of the same job. The assembler measures the parts of the products being made, monitors compliance with the production quality standards, and removes the defective items. A fault caught at the bench costs a component; the same fault caught in a finished unit costs the whole assembly.
This is precise work in which small defects matter. The assembler meets the deadlines and works to the occupational health and safety standards, where soldering fumes, flux and small tools are the everyday exposures rather than dramatic hazards.
